A good life? ... a pretty broad and varied topic. To me a good life is a life with financial security, safety and happiness. Now this can either end up with me as a millionaire with a mansion in a gated community and with a large, happy family. Or it can end up with me alone, in a studio apartment in a nice urban neighborhood with a good job that pays the bills and lets me save up. In order to get this good life I know that I need to be accomplished in at-least getting a good job or working hard. This life has been in the making since I was born but as of now the best I can do to get closer to that life is to finish college and go to law school (yeah, i want to be a scumbag lawyer).
Today's society pushes on us that we should all have the car, the house, the spouse, the kids and general success. Unfortunately not everyone meets these goals, especially success in life. I was fortunate enough to be born in a stable middle class family that never had any major internal issues or financial issues thanks to my parents strong work ethics. Not everyone grows up like I did so that I can see how this can be a problem to getting a good life, but its still possible.
I judge other people by how they act and treat their lives. I have zero respect for people that are addicted or cant help themselves to better themselves. I know, I had a few low points in my life but I wouldn't be where I was if I didn't pick myself up and better myself.
